Fans of actor Adam Sandler say the star should never return to acting, after his recent Netflix movie Hustle.

The 55-year-old star appears in the new film in a more serious role than we’re used to, having found fame in comedies such as Billy Madison and Big Daddy.

But Hustle sees the actor in a new light, with Hustle’s synopsis: “After discovering a once-in-a-lifetime player with a checkered past overseas, a basketball scout (Adam Sandler) takes it upon himself to bring the phenom to the United States without his team’s approval and against all odds, they have one last chance to prove they have what it takes to succeed in the NBA.

Adam worked as an executive producer for the new film, alongside NBA legend LeBron James who served as a producer.

Since its release on Netflix on June 8, fans have been making their love for the film known.

“Adam Sandler is much better at comedy-drama than comedy. He does his thing in Hustle,” one person said.

Another added: “Hustle is another feather in Adam Sandler’s serious cap. When he bursts into the dramatic roles, he knocks it out of the park every time. Top sandman.”

A third agreed saying: “Hustle was a great movie man. Really fun. If you’re a basketball fan you’ll love it. But it’s also just a dope movie in general. I really like to see Adam Sandler in addition to serious roles.

And it wasn’t just viewers who adored the film, with critics praising it as well.
