LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Kentucky State Fair officials announced Friday that they are now receiving applications for hundreds of employees they plan to hire ahead of the annual summer festival.
The announcement coincides with their first major hiring drive at the Louisville Metro Police Department-sponsored Youth Field Advisory Day on Saturday. July 16 at Iroquois Park from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Candidates can apply in person at the event.
There are also several other ways to apply. Individuals can apply online by visiting kystatefair.org/join-our-team or by calling (502) 367-05230. There will be another in-person hiring event, July 20-22, 1-6 p.m. at the Freedom Hall administration office.
Over a dozen different role types are available, including gate entry, traffic control, guest services, operations/maintenance, grounds/exterior cleaning, and housekeeping. Candidates can also apply for indoor or outdoor work, for morning, day, evening and night shifts. Pay ranges from $11 per hour to $13.50 per hour and increases to $20.25 for overtime.
In addition to guaranteed hours and overtime pay, employees receive a free meal during peak state fair days.
Job applicants must be at least 18 years old and provide identification to verify work eligibility, such as photo ID and Social Security card. Opportunities for full-time and additional roles beyond the Kentucky State Fair are also available.
